The P88 DAT is more sensitive to most people than other testing available. Meaning, it will detect even small amounts of IgE, that other methods can miss. The high levels of IgE, with minimal to no levels of IgG4, are the ones in which you would expect an overt reaction.

With a moderate and low level of reactivity, there is not enough antibody to trigger an immediate response. However, it tells you that the immune system is moving in a TH2 direction, or more of an autoimmune or atopic direction. You may choose if you notice many moderate to low levels of IgE, rather than remove all of them, to do things that decrease the TH2 branch of the immune system. Two interventions that are important are omega 3 fatty acids, and improving the microbiome through dietary changes and probiotics, because a healthier microbiome helps to lower the TH2 response as do Omega 3 fatty acids. You may consider stool testing to assess the state of the microbiome or an omega-3 fatty acid index.

If IgE never produced a known symptom, clinically, it is still advisable to take the foods out of the diet, work to lower that branch of the immune system, and then bring them in one at a time to monitor any reaction. If they had a known reaction in the past, reintroduce only when titer is lower, a skin test is not positive, and in a clinical setting with an epi-pen.
